Bespoke ethical luxury apparel fully traceable by the customer, fusing traditional craftsmanship, timeless style and modern technology.
Current Status
Implemented tech solution, established supplier relationships, conducted market research, designed marketing strategy, tested designs on target audience, signed advisors. Prototype in progress by industry expert with years of experience creating custom pieces for celebrities at famous fashion brands.
Problem or Opportunity
The fashion industry is run on slave labour, and luxury brands are some of the worst for human rights abuses. The industry won't change without the leadership of an influential, prestigious brand presenting a superior alternative to the system.
Solution (product or service)
We are redefining expectations of luxury with an unprecedented connection between the customers and the craftsmen. Each item we make contains an NFC chip with full traceability information, climate impact, cultural content and even videos of the customer's item being manufactured.
We prioritize sourcing from indigenous groups, paying them equitably and utilizing some of the world's most amazing materials. We work with family owned businesses with hundreds of years of proud heritage.
Our items are fundamentally sustainable, being made to order in heirloom quality and timeless style.
Business model
Low volume, high margin, direct to customer, made to order. Our target audience is used to extremely high prices and to paying half in advance, then waiting for the item to be manufactured.
We will launch with a limited collection of leather jackets, then expand into other apparel, leather goods, accessories and fragrances.
In the long term, we will develop a unique traceable ethics certification we will licence to other genuinely ethical brands, leveraging Maison Banraf as a flagship brand for prestige and credibility.
